Released in 2006 by Luck Up Studios, Broken is Brett Baker’s first and only solo release. From start to finish, the album is 40 minutes of raw country-americana. With no musical training, Brett wrote, recorded, and produced the album in his living room, using an eight-track recorder, harmonica and acoustic guitar.

Broken is a haunting, but perhaps hopeful story about emerging from the underbelly of addiction. Baker’s gravely voice reverberates with hope, but also despair. Through a journey to reclaim his soul he rediscovers the hunger to connect with the Spirit that inspires us all; Love.

This album is like being a cowboy sitting at a campfire on the Western Plains. You’re hungry, thirsty and tired and it’s just a lonesome night wind separating you from the stars.
