Collections

Brett has been writing poetry since he was seventeen years old, seeking to hone his craft as a wordsmith. To date he has written four unpublished collections, Reflections off the Liquid Mind, Horseback City, Run Read Blood and The Brown Bag Chronicles. 

The Brown Bag Chronicles was written from 1994 to 1996 while touring with his comedy troupe XYZ. After numerous editorial revisions, the two-volume collection seemed complete in 2000. Run Read Blood, written in 1993, was edited this year and both are being made public for the first time.

“The words found in these collections came to me like a force of nature. I couldn’t ignore them. I wrote them down on paper. Beyond that I’m just the middleman. I’m not sure where they came from or why they chose me, but it’s my obligation to set them free.” -Brett
